The Iron Patriots host a STEM camp each summer. The camp is organized and run by the high school members of the Iron Patriots Robotics Team. Beyer teacher Karla Valencia-Nunez oversees the program. Students in grades 4-8 (for the 23/24 school year) are welcome to join, the lessons are adaptable for beginners and those with past experience. The camp fee is typically around $45 and includes a t-shirt.
Students will work together in small groups throughout the week to think critically, analyze data, and prototype creative solutions to solve problems with real-world relevance. Students of all learning levels will build confidence and resilience along with the 21st century skills that are vital to their future success! The small groups will be lead by high school students from the competitive Iron Patriots Robotics team. Many of our past campers have gone on to join our high school team which is open to all area high school students.
